Welcome To The Vaults - Cask & Kitchen, Faversham.

Since we refurbished and reopened this lovely 16th century public house in Faversham at the beginning of 2009, our reputation for pub food, in particular our specialist steak menu, has spread throughout the county, so that we now regularly welcome parties from many miles' distance who come to sample our home cooking and real ale.

Many older Faversham residents will recall the pub as The Old Albion Wine Vaults as it was known up until 1965. There is some conjecture that there was in fact a brewery in the building in the 1700's, with the first records of it being a tavern in the 17th Century. Records show that in 1770 Valentine Court purchased the premises including an acre of hop gardens for £515.

The Vaults - Cask & Kitchen is open: Monday to Sunday, 11am to 11pm. 

Food served: Monday to Thursday 12noon to 2.30pm, 6.30pm to 9.00pm Friday & Saturday 12 noon to 9pm and Sunday 12noon to 4pm.

We always stock at least one beer from a South East brewery! Including (but not limited to): Hopdaemon Brewery Doddington, Millis Brewer Dartford, Wantsum Brewery Canterbury, Hop Fuzz Brewery Hythe, Tunbridge Wells Brewery, Gadds Ramsgate, Whitstable Brewery plus many more! Dudda’s Tun Cider and apple juice from Pine Tree Farm (Doddington), Meat (including REAL pork scratchings) from South East Farmers via Baldy’s Butchers (Faversham), Wine from Hercules Wine (Faversham), Flowers from Lotty’s Flowers (Faversham), Fruit and vegetables from Kent growers when possible. We purchase from Ye Olde Stationary Shoppe, J C Lock and safe, M & J Supplies, Mackanade Farm Shop. We try to use local trades people where possible.

Celtic Marches   Ruby Tuesday Raspberry   4%   A 100% Herefordshire cider liberally imparted with British raspberry juice.
Cornish Orchards   Farmhouse. CAMRA 2012 Award Winner   4%   This scrumptious premium cider is rich in fruity aroma and  ripe apple flavour.
Weston’s    Rosie’s Pig Flat Tyre   4%   Medium-sweet, cloudy, and slowly matured still cider made from freshly pressed apples, paired with a refreshing infusion of rhubarb juice. The well balanced, fruity taste and tart finish provides a deliciously moreish cider.
    Rosie’s Pig Handbrake   4%    Medium-sweet, cloudy, and slowly matured still cider made from Herefordshire apples and a generous helping of fruity damson juice. Hints of cherry and hedgerow fruits, paired with a sharp finish makes for a perfectly easy drinking drop.
Hogan’s   Hazy Daisy   3.9%   Gold medal, international cider challenge. A medium sweet cider. Slightly cloudy in appearance, this cider has an abundance of apple fruit aromas and flavours with a hint of citrus and berry, delicately balanced alongside apple sweetness.
Thistly Cross   Real Ginger Cider   4%    A medium sweet cider with bright golden colour. Smells like a good very pleasant Ginger beer. Soft mouthfeel with ginger dominating the palate due to the infused blend of fresh root ginger, pressed on our apple press.  
Sandford Orchards   Devon Red   4.5%   Bags of fruit and a truly satisfying cider bite delivered in a genuinely quaffable and light balanced cider.


Weddings and Functions

We pride ourselves on our ability to deliver high quality weddings and functions, combining excellent food, friendly service and a great environment.
We can seat up to 36 people for a formal, sit down event or up to 100 for a more informal finger buffet.
We can provide the following to enhance your event: Colour coordinated tables, cloths and serviettes, table centre pieces, banners and balloons, DJ or live band.

Day delegate or room hire rates available: Our room hire rates are as follows- £70 full day, or £40 half day. Alternatively our day delegate rate is available for only £15 per person. The price includes: room hire, equipment hire, morning coffee, buffet lunch, and afternoon tea.
